My stance & thoughts on Akanishi Jin

annneonetThis is a public post because I doubt that this will change anytime soon, and I figure that this is something you should know about me before friending me or w/e. I'm going to be blunt so all of you weak hearts can stay away. I'm not "bashing" him jsyk. Then again, some fans think "I don't find ooo attractive" is bashing. -- This isn't only about the recent event, but everything leading up to it.
1. His attitude when he's with KT sucks.
There's something wrong when fans go "Oh look! He's smiling today!" when he actually looks happy, instead of "Did something happen D:" when he looks down. Tell me what this means? Wrong answers include: "he's just not feeling well", "he doesn't look grumpy to me", etc etc. I used those excuses in the beginning too, but you know what? I ran out at some point. At some point, I realized that he was acting like a passive aggressive kid. Seriously, my younger sister does this. "Omg you didn't give me what I want so I'm going to sit here looking all grumpy"
I've seen enough of how he acts when he's with KT vs how he looks when he's solo to realize that being with the other 5 doesn't seem to mean a thing to him. Not just on TV, but in interviews too. No merit about being in KT besides the fame & pampering? He always thinks of himself above the others? He never wants to do a drama w/ the other 5? He smiles enough with his solo work? These are just a few of the annoying things he's said in interviews in various magazines. "He's misunderstood"? By who? The interviewers? Don't you think there's something wrong when these interviewers interview tons of other people, and there's just this one gloomy looking idol that's complaining about "being misunderstood"? Heck, I've seen interviewers follow-up on his stupid comments to try and cover for him, and the members even join in on the effort. Isn't there something wrong with this picture? It happens way too often for him to be "just joking about it".
2. Potential? Lack of one?
If he sucks at talking so much, why isn't he practicing? What about the other things he seems to not do? Why isn't he even trying? Don't give me this "he is trying" nonsense. HE ISN'T TRYING AND YOU KNOW IT. If you think he's trying, maybe we "haters" think more highly of him than you do. Maybe we see more potential than you do. We aren't pissed off and ranting about him because we hate him. We don't even want to hate him. If we were haters and antis of him, we'd be laughing and enjoying ourselves at the huge ditch he's digging himself right now. We're pissed off because we recognize that he could do so much better, that he could be at the top of the idol chain, yet here he is being a friggin bum. A BUM. He doesn't want to take care of his looks because it's easier not to, his constant clubbing has killed his vocal skills, he doesn't even give his fans enough credit for all the crap they put up with, what the heck is he left with??? Imho, Koki could be much better than A at this point if he decides that he'd want to go for the vocals.And I say go for it! I'm still waiting for Koki's popularity to boom ;~;
Anyways, the guy goes around looking like an insect w/ those huge glasses stuck to his face, with his hair unkempt, and in the end looking like a wannabe. He's like a weeaboo except for America. What a joke.
Now my take on what some fans like to spout...
3. "We're fans, you HAVE to support what they do or you're a bad fan!"
I'm not a fan to support whatever stupid decision the guys decide to make, kthnx. I'm a fan because I like what they do. You have this "fan" thing backwards if you ask me. Why do you think Maru wrote that he was uneasy about how we'd take it? Why do you think Koki pleaded for us to stay with them till the end? They understand that we, fans, are the customers. We decide whether we support what they do.
4. "He's not selfish, he didn't have a choice!"
Might have believed that one if he wasn't acting like this. I would believe it if it was any other member, but him? Look at my ramble above. Oh, and Koki was being cryptic. Read the Japanese; we won't even know for sure what the heck he meant unless he outright tells us, and he won't.
5. "Jin's overworked and that's why wahwahwah"
As a girl whose favorite is Kame, you have no idea how much this ticks me off. First you whine about him not getting any work, then you whine that he's overworked, then you whine for something else, then what? Are you implying that he's working harder than the other members? That he has the right, above all the other members, to look grumpy and tired? Have you seen Kame's eyebags? If you haven't, you're blind because I swear they're going to droop off his face soon. You're probably AOs if you're spouting this excuse, and you of all people should know that Jin stated himself "fun&friends >>>> work". He goes clubbing, plays with friends. This is why he looks tired, not because of work. Look at some of the Arashi members for crying out loud! I bet they don't look this miserable, and I could bet you that the most active member(s) of that group would be working ridiculously hard right now.
6. Oh, now that leads to "But he's huuuuuman, he needs a social life too" amirite?
I could care less what he does on his free time if it didn't affect his work. IF. But it does, and as a customer of his work, it's become my business. And yet once again, you're implying that he's the only one in Johnny's who has a social life because oh look, he's the only one with this problem so far. Hmmmm. You know? People usually get fired if their private lives affect their work. It isn't as if they aren't connected at all.
7. "It's his dream! It's a once in a life time chance! You wouldn't want to miss it either"
And yet again, as a girl who has been trying to put others before my own wants, this pisses me off. No, if I had the choice, I wouldn't take the offer. I would let it go especially if I was in his shoes, because the others have already done and given up so much once before. Nice to know that you think so little of the Asia tour btw. It's such a small insignificant chance that every JE group continuously gets that this won't hurt, right?

Give me a break. Everyone knows that JE would never make it here. Some fans? Sure. But nowhere enough for the guys to come over. Not to mention the fact that Jin's English isn't that great either. I can assure you that he'd be tested into the lowest (or one of the lowest) ESL classes if he were to go to a college here. Who the heck tries to write lyrics at that kind of level? If the general public notices him by some miracle, it'll be to laugh at him and everything he's connected to.
If I remember anything else, I'll add it in. ;P
For now, this is my final stance until he decides to get a brain and a conscience.
I've given up on caring about him; I am ignoring his existence from the group until he proves to me with his actions that he wants to be a part of it. I don't need to spend my time being frustrated at some guy who doesn't care what we're trying to convey to him. I can enjoy the work and effort the other 5 provide for me till then. ^^
If he decides to return to his senses, I will gladly support KAT-TUN again. If he doesn't? Oh well, I can go on supporting KaT-TUN just as happily. ♡
PS. I really did try to like him. It's the whole reason I made the withrokuun comm. I thought that if I created a nice wank-free space where I didn't have to deal with certain AOs, that things could change and I could see him in a more positive light. Well, it's a little hard when the guy himself shows no signs of change (or at least change in a good way). =___=

I remember when Jin used to be my 2nd favorite member and how we missed him the first time he left. Meh They've changed, he has especially changed, we've changed. Care/Murasaki/Hesitate was like his peak era. :< He was so awesome back then. It's too bad he lost that spark.

This is basically what I was trying to refer to when I said I can't relate to the international fandom's general and constant "we're not there, we cannot know/take a stance, so lets just keep an open mind and support them" take on everything. Cause there is a line.

YES. Even my friend, who has hated him longer than I have and far more emphatically, agrees. In fact a great deal of why we hate him is based on this. YOU HAVE THE BLOODY TALENT. Unlike everyone else in KT, you didn't even have to WORK for it - the looks, the voice, the confident personality. You were born on such a head start! You could have made yourself into a superstar, but nooooooo........ =________=

I think launching big into the US like the Korean groups are doing = bad idea (and it would actually make me kind of mad), but just a few little concerts to keep us satisfied and not so jealous of that Swedish TegoMassu concert, awesome.
...That said, Jin doesn't fall under this at all for soooo many reasons. >.>

But the whole possible "club tour" around America and him continuously staying over here for long periods of time is headache inducing. I hope they never try what kpop's doing. Idk, they might want to wait a bit more till America's more open towards Asians in general before trying anything (this is more towards the kpop people but yeah). It's still a hella prejudiced country once you get out of those couple major cities (and there's still issues in said cities so... whoop)

yes jin is an ungrateful kid, sorry if it sound so rude but he has talents, bright star aura which he doesn't even have to work for it , he born with it unlike kame the ugly duckling *pats him. so i thought this kid needs to grow up maybe that's why johnny cut him loose from the rest of the band to take responsibility of his actions and desires that life isn't just about having some fun you're not gonna be young forever!!!
tbh i don't understand him anymore, sometimes i wonder does he have some personal issues, is he too idealist to stay in the showbiz full of falsity??? because he never show he cares anymore. but then again from the beginning he wasn't the one who had to be tricked to come to the jimusho, he wants to be in the showbiz!! this kid's ambitious!! so what's wrong with him anyway?? if he has some kind of problems don't bring it to work isn't he the one who said that he wants to separate between works and personal life??
and what most getting on my nerves is his fans, for all these years i saw more and more arrogant AO fans, i'm not just talking about netizen because it is so obvious here in lj comm, but in real life also, sorry to say but they are rude, disrespectful, wankers, cynical esp. towards the newbies. and his attitude is not helping at all, adding the fuel days after days.
i'm sorry for the rants i'm not trying to bash or anything because this is what i've been witnessing all these time since he returned, i'm just confused and never expected that he will become like this, like what you've said he's digging his own "grave" what a pity for such talents he has.
NB: no Je will not gain anything is us maybe some fans but sorry to say they can only sell looks and youth

Date: 2010-08-27 09:59 am (UTC)Though I'm torn about how I feel about Jin (I still like watching his old vids), I think he has overlooked a lot of stuff by his decision. One is the reason he has gained a foreign fan base in the first place. It's not because he can speak English-his Jinglish was perfectly adorable.
I was just watching 2005 Shounen Club wherein he produced the episode "Love and Natural" and he listed KAT-TUN as an example. I wondered if he can ever act as his natural bakanishi self again. He seems to be busy working on his accent these days.
While KAT-TUN is performing concerts in large venues in Asia confidently singing Japanese songs which the fans have come to love, Jin is doing a club-scene type of gig, singing songs in English which he fails to deliver with as much passion as when he sings in Japanese.
I think he's making the same mistake a lot of artists in my own country are doing and that is trying to fit in by cultural imitation. When in fact, it is the uniqueness of his own culture that draws foreign fans to him. When he becomes truly adept in English and can do a perfect Justin Timberlake, well, he'd be just another wannabe in America. Aw, Jin, I guess I've said too much but I still hope for the best for you. I guess I can be wrong too...maa,iika!

Many reasons that you mentioned really touch my heart.!
These reasons are in my mind (and I believe they're in many KT' fans) but I don't want to say them because I'm not self confident that there will be people who think like me.
I like you and your opinion so much. You're honest and have a sincerely heart. I can't stand AO anymore. and most of all "Jin's behavior" is damn!!! (really sorry for my rude but I think I put up with this guy and his fan a long time.) He makes himself cheapen.
I don't care AO to blame me. I hate Jin's own f*cking way... btw whoever helps him because of the choice that he chose by himself.
